Der kanadische Singer/Songwriter Joël Fafard zeigt sich als wahrer Meister der Slidegitarre. Aus einer feurigen Mischung aus Blues, Folk, Country, Bluesgrass und keltischen Klängen entwickelte er seinen eigenen Stil, der allerorten höchstes Lob erntet.
Mit "Rocking Horse" produzierte er gemeinsam mit Richard Moody an der Violine und Gilles Fournier am Kontrabass ein reines Instrumentalalbum, das in Kanada als "herausragendes Instrumentalalbum" für den Western Canadian Music Award nominiert wurde.
Aber nicht nur seine instrumentalen Fähigkeiten, sondern auch seine gefühlvolle Stimme bringt er bei seinen Live-Konzerten zu Gehör.
Joël Fafard stand bereits mit Größen wie Joe Cocker oder Burton Cummings auf der Bühne, spielte mit dem Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra und bei der Western Canadian Music Awards Gala sowie auf bekannten Festivals wie dem Winnipeg Folk Festival, dem Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival oder dem Wellington Folk Festival in Neuseeland.
Für seinen Song "Megan and the Wascana Cyclone" wurde er mit der Aufnahme in Mel Bay's "Master's Anthology for Finger-Style Guitar Solos Vol. 3" geehrt.
